14/09/2007 > EMLYON launches a new campus in Shanghai in partnership with East China Normal University
The business school has been in China since 1997 and has built strategic partnerships with several prestigious universities of academic excellence: Fudan University - School of Economics, Jiao Tong University – Antai Business School and CEIBS in Shanghai and Zhejiang University – School of Management in Hangzhou and Zhongshan University and Lingnan College in Canton.
This new campus aims at exposing students and participants to the Chinese culture. The innovative programmes taught on the campus will ensure the students and participants of EMLYON a rich Asian cultural immersion.
From an academic point of view, the campus will contribute to the development of research and further the understanding of elements that constitute the East Asian ethos, thus giving a better grasp of the different managerial practices in the region. The goal for the professors of the two faculties is to learn to work together so as to design and jointly develop an educational process that rises up to the challenges of globalisation.
The success of this decisive stage of the EMLYON project in China depends first and foremost on the quality of the relationship built with its partner, East China Normal University (ECNU). This institution, founded in 1951, is considered to be one the pioneers of higher education in China. A partner of the prestigious New York University, ECNU has already forged ties with the Rhône-Alpes region, through this cooperation with the ENS.
Beyond the operational aspects of the partnership, the relationship between EMLYON and ECNU is based on the values of reciprocity, and pooling skills, know-how and experience.
